Just wrote the first few lines of Project0 Engine. I am going to implement the OpenGL layer to the 3D Engine tomorrow.
Just found some time to create a first (very) rough design of our game engine. I’ll start bringing it to code within a few weeks except the gameplay & AI “section” since we currently work on the idea (which we will present to you in a few days).
This week started like the week before but instead of reading books and learning new game design techniques as I wanted to do I had a practical leadership test yesterday. Continue reading

Again we played Minecraft for several hours and talked nonsense via Skype. But this time we had one idea we surprisingly marked as a good one. We remembered about Julien’s crazy idea to create a text-based shooter game, which would be quite useless , but we went on with the idea of developing our own video game. And we even had a great example what it could look like as we where playing a video game right at that historic moment. We had absolutely no idea who the game would look like or what it is about but we knew that we wanted 8-bit/Minecraft-style graphics. So we met and I brought some books and we started to read before I left for work.
This evening we went to Frankfurt Airport and talked about Minecraft and some projects we planned. I dont exactly know how k3ksmann got the idea to create a text based shooter but I am pretty sure we discussed our last BF3 match before he started to talk nonsense. So around 2am this morning “Project 0″ was born even if we didn’t went on discussing the idea of creating our own video game.
